In recent years the name “spray” has been used by a few boat designers in order to take advantage of name recognition for marketing purposes. most notably, several steel "spray" models have become popular among amateur steel boat builders. this is largely because the plans are heavily marketed and very cheap to buy.. Centennial spray 45 we ordered preliminary boat plans for the spray from bruce and started adapting our layout to the 45 foot hull. when bruce released his round bilge version, the we were convinced this was the perfect hull for us.. The original bruce roberts sailboat and powerboat designs & boat plans company in australia. boatplans & designs for steel, aluminium & wood/epoxy in either multichine, radius chine or round bilge hull forms. thousands of designs marketed as roberts designs have been built in backyards and successfully sailed around the world. stockist of manecraft deep sea seals..
Unfortunately in november 1909, captain slocum and his beloved boat spray were lost. the model yacht plans have two alternatives in the files. they both are clear and understandable. there are also some information about the boat and captain slocum. the yacht spray may be lost, but you are the ones who found her again.. I think bad boat or not, spray belongs to our boat heritage, and i was glad to find this book. how can such a failure of a person, and such a lousy marketer sell millions of plans, and become and industry name ? it just doesnt make sense !!! opinion, and view of individual users. boat design net does not necessarily endorse nor share. The sprays are really beamy boats, a 46' has a 20' beam. i don't really care about speed as much as i do strength, which is why i'm opting for steel. but i'm wondering how safe such a wide boat is on long distance voyages, how well it would right itself, etc... just things that people might have had experience with from a spray type boat..
